Mujeres de Oro it’s a Global Development Alliance (GDA por sus siglas en inglés) entre USAID/Colombia, Mineros S.A., Jaime Arteaga & Asociados (JA&A) and 2M Consultores
that will contribute to the inclusive and equitable development of three mining municipalities: El Bagre, Nechí and Zaragoza (Antioquia). To achieve this, it will promote the economic and political empowerment of women and a cultural transformation in favor of gender equity. It will be implemented in 4.5 years (2018 – 2023).

Politician

The political component will develop and consolidate women’s leadership, it will include a gender approach in institutions, documents and actions of local government and companies such as Mineros S.A.

The economic component will seek for women to access decent employment opportunities and to strengthen their business units, with developed business technical skills and psychosocial skills to strengthen their autonomy.

The economic and political empowerment of women will not be possible without a cultural change. For this reason, the recognition of equality of rights and opportunities for all will be promoted, sensitize the population in the face of violence against women and girls to multiply actions of care and respect, and will promote the contribution from men to the transformation of gender stereotypes.
